Update on Our Washington D.C. Trip

We stopped by the White House just to say we’d seen it

Last Saturday we went to Washington D.C. for an exploration trip to learn more about Latin American culture with hopes in engaging people from different nations.  We got to experience several different cultures during our trip, from Kenya to El Salvador.  We thoroughly enjoyed our empanadas from various parts of South America that we had for lunch.  We were looking to share the gospel as much as possible during this time.  Diane engaged a homeless man named Eli and talked with him for about 30 or 45 minutes.  He has had some exposure to Christianity, but he seemed to always want to bring conversation about the gospel back to social issues in America.  We encouraged him to continue to read his Bible, but we still are not sure about his eternal state.  Pray for Eli to encounter the gospel in the Bible and to compare his life to the demands to follow Christ.

We got to talk to several other people and gave a tract to one young man, but it seemed like the day continually got lost in other things.  We know there will always be distractions, so pray for us that God would keep the goal of sharing the gospel as our primary concern and help us to filter out other things that would take our focus away from evangelism.

Thank you for keeping up with us and praying for us.  We’ll be headed to New Orleans next week, followed by trips back to each of our parents before we finally head out.  Hopefully we’ll get to see some of you in the coming weeks – call us or email us at alexanddianemontgomery@live.com !
