The Power of Bible Stories

One of the interesting and difficult tasks that cross-cultural workers have is sharing the gospel with people who learn differently than we do.  Two of the biggest barriers are language and oral v. written learning.  Because of this, Diane and I are working on learning and telling Bible stories in Spanish in a way that will be both understood and reproducible to those who hear.  For example, here’s a short story that Jesus taught:

The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. (Mt. 13:44)

Eternity is extremely important – more than anything in this world.  Jesus teaches that spending eternity in heaven with Him is so valuable that nothing we had before could possibly compare.  Have you found this treasure?  Who do you know that needs this treasure?  Would you tell them this simple story of Jesus?
